These guidelines outline how law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities may submit lawful requests for user information.
Legal Basis for Information Disclosure
TradeStack will only disclose user information when required by:
- A valid and enforceable legal request (such as a court order, subpoena, or regulatory directive)
- Applicable laws and regulatory obligations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and sanctions compliance
- Requests that are clear, specific, and within the legal authority of the requesting agency
How to Submit a Request

- Be submitted on official agency letterhead
- Include the name, designation, and contact details of the requesting officer
- Clearly state the legal authority supporting the request
- Specify the type of information required (e.g., KYC data, transaction records, wallet details, IP logs)
- Identify the relevant user or subject (e.g., email address, wallet address, transaction reference)
- Indicate any applicable deadlines or urgency
Processing of Requests
Upon receiving a request, TradeStack will:
- Verify the identity and authority of the requesting agency
- Review the legal basis and scope of the request
- Provide only information that is lawful, necessary, and proportionate
- Respond securely and within a reasonable timeframe
Where necessary, we may contact the requesting authority for additional clarification.
User Notification
TradeStack may notify affected users before disclosing their information unless:
- Notification is legally prohibited
- Notification may interfere with an ongoing investigation
- Notification may create a risk of harm or compromise enforcement actions
International Requests
TradeStack operates primarily in Nigeria. Requests from foreign law enforcement agencies will be treated as international requests.
Such requests should be submitted through appropriate legal and diplomatic channels, including:
- The Office of the Attorney General
- The National Central Bureau of INTERPOL
- The Nigeria Police Force
- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
- Other competent authorities under Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) or similar frameworks
Requests submitted outside these channels may not be processed.
Data Retention and Preservation
Where immediate disclosure is not possible, TradeStack may, upon receipt of a valid preservation request, retain relevant data for a limited period pending submission of a formal legal request.
